CCAGW Sends "Biden Trips Badly on Intellectual Property in TRIPS" by Elizabeth Wright to the U.S. House of Representatives
Letters to Officials
May 11, 2021
Dear Representative,
On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I am writing regarding the May 13, 2021 House Ways and Means Committee hearing featuring U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, entitled “The Biden Administration’s 2021 Trade Policy Agenda.”
CCAGW is very troubled by the administration’s recent decision to support a proposed waiver petition request to the World Trade Organization’s Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights or TRIPS, that would turn over U.S. COVID-19 patent rights. For additional information on our concerns, I am providing you with a link to a May 6 blog from The WasteWatcher which addresses this issue.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either me or CCAGW Health and Science Director Elizabeth Wright at ewright@cagw.org. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Thomas A. Schatz
