Dear Representative,
You will soon consider H.R. 6147, Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2019. On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support the following amendments to H.R. 6147:
Rep. Gary Palmer’s (R-Ala.) amendment to eliminate funding for Diesel Emission Reduction Grants and send the savings to the spending reduction account.
Rep. Glenn Grothman’s (R-Wis.) amendment to reduce funding for the National Endowment on the Arts and the Humanities by 15 percent.
The amendment offered by Reps. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) and Scott Perry (R-Pa.) to prohibit the use of funds for enforcing the Obama Administration’s EPA Methane Rule.
The amendment offered by Reps. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Scott Perry (R-Pa.), and Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) to prohibit funds from implementing the Social Cost of Carbon rule.
The amendment offered by Reps. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) and Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) to prohibit funds from being used to regulate trailers under the Clean Air Act.
Rep. Doug Lamborn’s (R-Colo.) amendment to prohibit the use of funds to implement or enforce the threatened species listing of the Preble’s meadow jumping mouse under the Endangered Species Act.
Rep. Doug Lamborn’s (R-Colo.) amendment to prohibit the use of funds to implement or enforce the threatened species or endangered species listing of any plant or wildlife that has not undergone a review as required by section 4(c)(2) of the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
The amendment offered by Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.), Bill Shuster (R-Pa.), and Scott Perry (R-Pa.) to prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency from using any funds to take retaliatory, or EPA described “backstop” actions, against any of the six states in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed in the event that a state does not meet the goals mandated by the EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-Tenn.) amendment to reduce discretionary budget authority by one percent for Fiscal Year 2019 Appropriations for Department of Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, and related agencies.
Rep. Glenn Grothman’s (R-Wis.) amendment to prohibit funds made available by this Act to be used to implement or enforce the EPA’s ground level ozone rule.
Rep. Scott Perry’s (R-Pa.) amendment to prohibit the EPA from using funds to give formal notification under, or prepare, propose, implement, administer, or enforce any rule or recommendation pursuant to, section 115 of the Clean Air Act.
Rep. Steve Pearce’s (R-N.M.) amendment to prevent funds from being used to treat the New Mexico Meadow Jumping Mouse as an endangered species.
The amendment offered by Reps. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.) and Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) to prevent funds from being used to carry out any rule-making on the status of the Lesser Prairie Chicken.
Rep. Jody Hice’s (R-Ga.) amendment to state that no funds should be made available for Environmental Justice Small Grants issued by the Office of Environmental Justice.
Rep. Mark Meadow’s (R-N.C.) amendment to prohibit Federal Funds from being used by the Office of Personnel Management to administer the Multi-State Plan program.
Rep. Keith Rothfus’ (R-Pa.) amendment to prohibit the funds from being used to seize property as a means of enforcing the liability provisions of the District of Columbia individual mandate.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-Tenn.) amendment to reduce discretionary budget authority by one percent for Fiscal Year 2019 Appropriations for Financial Services and General Government-related agencies.
Rep. Patrick McHenry’s (R-N.C.) amendment to prohibit any taxpayer funds from going to support the Post Service’s efforts to (1) expand or enhance financial services products, or (2) carry out any pilot programs or task forces pursuant to that end.
Furthermore, I urge you to oppose the following amendment:
The amendment offered by Reps. Don Beyer (D-Va.) and Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) to strike section 431, which repeals the Clean Water Rule.
All votes on H.R. 6147 will be among those considered in CCAGW’s 2018 Congressional Ratings.
