Voters across America considered ballot initiatives on November 3, 2020.  The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste took positions for or against eight measures and supported the correct outcome on five of them.  Here are the results for these ballot initiatives:  

Louisiana Sports Betting Parish Measures
Question/Title: “Shall sports wagering activities and operations be permitted in the parish of (individual parish name)?”
CCAGW Position: Support
Result: Approved – 55 of 64 Parishes 

Maryland Question 2
Question/Title: “Do you approve the expansion of commercial gaming in the State of Maryland to authorize sports and events betting for the primary purpose of raising revenue for education?”
CCAGW Position: Support 
Result: Approved

South Dakota Constitutional Amendment B 
Question/Title: “An amendment to the South Dakota Constitution authorizing the legislature to allow sports betting in Deadwood.”
CCAGW Position: Support
Result: Approved

California Proposition 22 
Question/Title: “Exempts App-Based Transportation and Delivery Companies from Providing Employee Benefits to Certain Drivers. Initiative Statute.”
CCAGW Position: Support
Result: Approved

Colorado Proposition EE
Question/Title: “Shall state taxes be increased by $294,000,000 annually by imposing a tax on nicotine liquids used in e-cigarettes and other vaping products that is equal to the total state tax on tobacco products when fully phased in, incrementally increasing the tobacco products tax by up to 22% of the manufacturer’s list price, incrementally increasing the cigarette tax by up to 9 cents per cigarette, expanding the existing cigarette and tobacco taxes to apply to sales consumers from outside of the state, establishing a minimum tax for moist snuff tobacco products, creating an inventory tax that applies for future cigarette tax increases, and initially using the tax revenue primarily for public school funding to help offset revenue that has been lost as a result of the economic impacts related to COVID-19 and then for programs that reduce the use of tobacco and nicotine products, enhance the voluntary Colorado preschool program and make it widely available for free, and maintain the funding for programs that currently receive revenue from tobacco taxes, with the state keeping and spending all of the new tax revenue as a voter-approved revenue change?”

Oregon Ballot Measure 108
Question/Title: “Increases cigarette and cigar taxes. Establishes tax on e-cigarettes and nicotine vaping devices. Funds health programs.”
CCAGW Position: Opposed
Result: Approved

Maryland Question 1
Question/Title: “The proposed amendment authorizes the General Assembly, in enacting a balanced budget bill for fiscal year 2024 and each fiscal year thereafter, to increase, diminish, or add items, provided that the General Assembly may not exceed the total proposed budget as submitted by the Governor.”
CCAGW Position: Opposed 
Result: Approved 

Michigan Proposal 2
Question/Title: “Constitutional Amendment: Electronic Data and Communication Search Warrant.”
CCAGW Position: Support 
Result: Approved
