Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act

Letters to Officials

June 5, 2012

U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Representative,

You will soon consider H.R. 5325, the fiscal year 2013 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. Although the bill contains $32.1 billion in discretionary funding, which is $965 million below the president’s budget request, several profligate programs are still funded in the bill. On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support the following amendments, which would cut wasteful programs and make significant structural enhancements:

  • Amendment

These amendments would devolve power to states, fix the highway system’s broken funding mechanisms, and eliminate expensive government-funded programs that Americans do not need and taxpayers simply cannot afford. All votes on H.R. 5325 will be among those considered in CCAGW’s 2012 Congressional Ratings.

Sincerely,

Tom Schatz
President, CCAGW
