CCAGW Urges House of Representatives to Support the Senate Version of the One Big Beautiful Bill
Letters to Officials
July 1, 2025
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Representative,
On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to vote in favor of the Senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill, also known as reconciliation, which is being considered in the House of Representatives.
The bill will save taxpayers $1.5 trillion by eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement, and permanently extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). According to the Council of Economic Advisors, the TCJA cut taxes for all Americans, with those earning $20,000 to $30,000 annually getting a 13.5 percent tax cut. If the tax cuts are not extended beyond December 31, 2025, American businesses and families would see a 68 percent tax increase, which will disproportionately impact those in the lower tax brackets. The permanent extension will increase wages by up to an average of $11,600 annually. In addition, the bill will reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio to 94 percent, cut taxes on seniors to offset Social Security income, and stimulate overall economic growth.
The bill will make federal spending more efficient, eliminate failed Green New Deal subsidies, and reform programs like Medicaid that have been expanded far beyond their original intent by redirecting funds to those most in need.
For these reasons, I again urge your support for the Senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill. All votes related to this legislation will be among those considered for CCAGW’s 2025 Congressional Ratings.
Sincerely,
Tom Schatz
President, CCAGW
