Letters to Officials

Chairman Matt Rosendale
Ranking Member Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick
House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
Subcommittee on Technology Modernization
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Chairman Rosendale and Ranking Member Cherfilus-McCormick,
On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW), I am sending you a blog post that was published on September 13, 2022, by CAGW Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs Deborah Collier, “An Interoperable EHR System is Closer than Ever.”
Mrs. Collier wrote that “while congressional angst over the program is understandable, particularly with further delays and increases in cost, with the new management structure at the VA, a new company proposing significant positive changes to the EHR system, and with DoD expected to complete its full deployment of MHS Genesis by the end of 2023, now is not the time to pull back or cancel the VA EHRM project. Congress, DOD, and the VA need to buckle down and work with Oracle to ensure the veterans’ healthcare is enabled by effective technology.”
If you have any questions, please contact Eric Maus at emaus@cagw.org.
Sincerely,
Tom Schatz
President, CAGW
