Letters to Officials
March 20, 2013
U.S. Senate
Washington, D.C. 20510
Dear Senator,
You will vote today on the Senate Budget Committee’s FY 2014 budget resolution. On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support two amendments being offered by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.).
• Point of order against legislation that increases direct spending in any of the four 10-year periods beginning after 2023
• Point of order against legislation that increases the deficit in any of the four 10-year periods beginning after 2023.
These amendments would place necessary restrictions on government spending and would help to prevent the deficit from expanding. I urge you to support these two amendments. All votes on amendments to the FY 2014 budget resolution will be among those considered in CCAGW’s 2013 Congressional Ratings.
Sincerely,
Tom Schatz
President, CCAGW
