CCAGW Urges House of Representatives to Support Amendments to H.R. 8070

Dear Representative,
You will soon be considering H.R. 8070, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025. On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support the following amendments.
Amendment #142, offered by Reps. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.), which requires the Department of Defense to submit an annual report to the Administrator of the General Services Administration on certain office space occupancy data and requires the Secretary of Defense to draft and finalize written procedures to govern the return of unused office space to the General Services Administration.
Amendment #186, offered by Reps. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), James Moylan (R-Guam), Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), and Jim Baird (R-Ind.), which prohibits the Department of Defense from contracting with any entity which provides semiconductors or related products or services to Huawei.
Amendment #343, offered by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), which requires a report from the Secretary of Defense on the use of taxpayer-funded official time.
Amendment #357, offered by Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas), Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), Troy Nehls (R-Texas), Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), and Eli Crane (R-Ariz.), which prohibits any of the funds authorized by this act being used to implement President Biden’s climate change executive orders.
Amendment #390, offered by Reps. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) and Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), which establishes a panel of experts to review contracts for major weapons systems, spare parts, and services to determine whether the Department of Defense paid excessive prices and make recommendations to ensure the Department of Defense pays fair prices and reasonable prices in future contracts.
Amendment #449, offered by Reps. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) and Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas), which requires the cost of any project funded with financial support from the Department of Defense to be disclosed to taxpayers.
Amendment #704, offered by Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.), which includes Oversight committees in briefings on the Department of Defense’s financial audits.
Amendment #985, offered by Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.), which directs the Department of Defense to utilize artificial intelligence in the audit of its financial statements with the goal of achieving a clean audit opinion for the first time.
