Dear Senator,
This morning, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) released the 2021 Congressional Pig Book.
The 29th edition of this publication identifies 285 earmarks in the fiscal year (FY) 2021 appropriations bills, an increase of 4 percent from the 274 in FY 2020, at a cost of $16.8 billion, an increase of 5.7 percent from the $15.9 billion in FY 2020. Since the introduction of the first Pig Book in 1991, CAGW has uncovered 111,702 earmarks costing $392.5 billion.
