(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) President Tom Schatz released the following statement applauding the House and Senate for passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which will be signed into law by President Donald Trump:

“All taxpayers should be thrilled that tax reform will soon be the law of the land.  It is the best holiday gift possible from the federal government.  This historic achievement would not have been possible without the strength and diligence of key House and Senate leaders, President Trump, and millions of taxpayers who made their voices heard.

“Every American will soon see lower tax rates, a simpler tax filing system, and a turbocharged U.S. economy with increased jobs and wages.  As taxpayers know all too well, every federal dollar returned back to individuals and families is a dollar that is not wasted in Washington.  That principle was at the heart of the tax reform package, and all taxpayers should rightly celebrate that it will soon be signed into law.”

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste is the lobbying arm of Citizens Against Government Waste, the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.
