CCAGW Urges Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee to Support S. 2871

Letters to Officials

April 9, 2024

Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee
342 Dirksen Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510

Dear Senator,

You will soon be considering S. 2871, the Multi-Cloud Innovation and Advancement Act.  On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support this bill.

S. 2871 would modernize and streamline the adoption of cloud computing technology by federal agencies, which would reduce costs, increase security, avoid vendor lock-in, and make agency operations more efficient.  Multi-cloud technology would also make federal agency information technology more interoperable and resilient.  Adopting multi-cloud technology would also reduce duplicative actions by federal agencies and streamline the federal procurement process.

This bill would make federal agencies more secure and efficient while reducing costs and duplication, and it does not require any new regulations.  For these reasons, I urge you to support S. 2871.  All votes related to S. 2871 may be among those considered for CCAGW’s 2024 Congressional Ratings.

Sincerely,

Tom Schatz
President, CCAGW
