CCAGW Urges House of Representatives to Support H.R. 347 | Council For Citizens Against Government Waste

CCAGW Urges House of Representatives to Support H.R. 347

Letters to Officials

February 27, 2023

U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Representative,

You will soon be considering H.R. 347, the Reduce Exacerbated Inflation Negatively Impacting the Nation (REIN IN) Inflation Act.  On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support this legislation.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government has spent an unprecedented amount of taxpayer resources, intended to help Americans through the economic issues created by the pandemic.  Transparency and accountability over how these taxpayer dollars are spent is crucial.  The REIN IN Inflation Act requires the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors and the Office of Management and Budget to report to Congress on the inflationary effects of any executive order that has an estimated economic impact of at least $1 billion.

The REIN IN Inflation Act would increase transparency and accountability of executive orders that exacerbate inflation and raise prices on Americans.  For these reasons, I urge you to support H.R. 347.  All votes related to H.R. 347 may be among those considered for CCAGW’s 2023 Congressional Ratings

Sincerely,

Tom Schatz
President, CAGW
