CCAGW Urges House of Representatives to Support Amendments to H.R. 8998

Dear Representative,

You will soon be considering H.R. 8998, the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025.  On behalf of the more than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I urge you to support the following amendments to H.R. 8998.

Amendment #22, offered by Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Eric Burlison (R-Mo.), which prohibits funds made available by this act to be used for environmental justice activities.

Amendment #29, offered by Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), which prohibits funds for the Environmental Financial Advisory Board of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Amendment #30, offered by Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), which prohibits funds to be used by the Environmental Protection Agency for the U.S. Global Change Research Program.

Amendment #41, offered by Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), which prohibits funds from being used to finalize any rule or regulation that has resulted in or is likely to result in an annual effect on the economy of $100 million or more.

Amendment #47, offered by Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-Okla.), which reduces funding for the National Endowment for the Arts to FY 2019 levels.

 Amendment #62, offered by Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) which prohibits funds for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.

Amendment #64, offered by Reps. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.) and Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.), which prohibits funding for the U.S. Board on Geographic Names.

Amendment #96, offered by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), which reduces funding for the Fish and Wildlife Services to FY 2021 levels.

Amendment #148, offered by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), which eliminates funding for CEQ and moves this funding to the spending reduction account.

Also, I urge you to oppose Amendment #123, offered by Rep. Mark DeSauliner (D-Calif.), which increases funding for the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board by $1 million to support activities authorized under the Clean Air Act.
